Sebastian Kneipp (1821 to 1897) said about the water:
... an ordinary means to toughen up. It comes for free, is simple and produces wonderful results.

Walking in the water has a pleasant, refreshing and healing effect, not only in persons suffering from nervousness, excessive stress and exhaustion, but also in those with headache, difficulty in falling asleep, tired legs, metabolic disturbances, susceptibility to infection, sensitiveness to changes in the weather, high blood pressure, disorders of local blood circulation and excessive foot perspiration.

Use

Wading in the water stimulates the circulation and increases the arterial blood flow. Together with muscular movement, it promotes venous circulation as well, and prevents the development of varicose veins. In the evening, it helps to fall asleep.
